Mission Statement
Rosemont College, founded in 1921 by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and continuously sponsored by the Society, is an independent, liberal arts college in the Catholic tradition. Consistent with its original purpose, the college offers undergraduate programs for women . It also offers graduate studies, accelerated degree programs and continuing studies for women and men.
Rosemont is rooted in its Catholic heritage and in an ecumenical spirit welcomes persons of all beliefs. It is committed to excellence and joy in teaching and learning. The college seeks to develop open and critical minds and reasoned moral positions in all members of the community and to assist them in becoming persons capable of independent and reflective thought and action. It seeks also to prepare women and men for the world of work so that they can make a significant contribution.
In the spirit of Cornelia Connelly, founder of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, Rosemont College works to develop in its people, teachers and learners, the strengths and abilities required to respond to the needs and challenges of the times and through a life of continued growth and learning, to act responsibly and effectively in an ever-changing world.
